PARTY-ED TOO HARD

3 nights ago, we celebrated singapore's national day at billboard. dinner from old town mamak was served, followed by the live screening of the parade, and lastly... the after party!!! i must say, that was the best clubbing session i have ever had in melbourne. it was just so fabulous.
girls gone wild. we were on the dance floor throughout the night. the heels didn't stop us, we took them off to dance!! zhang yao dong and dawn yeoh were there too, cindy was obessed with him. we all took pictures together - zhang yao dong looks better on tv though.
i love these 2 pictures with kenneth. best pictures we've ever taken.
crazy bunch of people i met over the weekend - jokers and drinkers. i had a jagerbomb and a tequila shot that night, while they kept drinking more. i think my tolerance level for alcohol has increased a lot!!

lesson learnt from that night - don't club on weekdays. struggling to stay awake during class the next day though lecture was only at noon.

He's One Quirky Guy

i enjoyed myself so much at the tim burton's exhibition today. i went for the exhibition not knowing anything about him, besides knowing that he's the director of alice in wonderland. heard his name numerous times, and i know that he's definitely one big shot in the movie industry. since holidays are here, i decided to go check out his exhibition at federation square. mind you, there was a 35 minute queue on a tuesday morning. this is how great he is. he's a real talent. no regrets going, and i found myself a new idol. :)
sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the exhibition. i totally agree with that idea as allowing people to snap photos of his work will just lower himself. rachel, kimmy and i were blown away with his masterpieces. from sketching to movie production, everything was just awesome. i wish i could buy some of his drawings and hang them in my room or future house. his work displayed is so HIM. drawings, sculptures, movies and story lines were all so weird, sad, spooky. but the funny thing is, the majority of us out there do appreciate his work.
after today, i found out that he actually directed so many movies. 1982 Vincent, 1984 Frankenweenie, 1985 Pee-wee's Big Adventure, 1988 Beetlejuice, 1989 Batman, 1990 Edward Scissorhands, 1992 Batman Returns, 1994 Ed Wood, 1996 Mars Attacks, 1999 Sleepy Hollow, 2001 Planet of the Apes, 2003 Big Fish, 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory & Corpse Bride, 2007 Sweeney Todd, 2010 Alice in Wonderland.

can't believe i've only watched 2 of his productions. what have i been doing? adrienne's going to pass me Edward Scissorhands tomorrow, and i shall slowly start finding and watching the rest. and its always glad to know that he has upcoming productions. 2011 Dark Shadows, 2012 Frankenweenie, 2013 Maleficent, 2014 The Addams Family. :)
i couldn't leave federation square without a souvenir, so i got myself a post card and a tim burton's tragic thought journal. love the cover of it as it has colourful lights. everything about him is just so ____. is there even a word to describe his character? sad, lonely childhood are the words that occur to me when looking at his work. also, i guess his love life proves the point that love is fated, since his wife is Helena Bonham Carter. so compatible.
everyone in melbourne should go for this exhibition.

Dancing in the Movies

Rick Malambri is so handsome and Sharni Vinson is so sweet! just got home from step up 3D movie with rachel, merrie and jon. the movie was just average for me, nothing much. step up 1 is still the best, love the storyline and dance moves! can they produce another step up movie, but not featuring street dance?!

anyhow, got my cravings for salmon don settled with jonny at a japanese restaurant near flinders for dinner. super awesome, i love it so much. must try the mixed sashimi don the next time i'm there. we girls went for freddos ice cream after the movie on LYGON at 10pm (they just opened after the long winter break)! yes, i think we are crazy.

BECAUSE earlier this afternoon at 4.50pm, 2 people were shot dead outside players on lygon, which is just a few stalls away from freddos. apparently it's some revenge gang fight due to the earlier killing this morning. the crime scene is fenced up, and there were so many reporters and policemen. there was also a helicopter just above college square before i went out for dinner. melbourne is so dangerous man! mummy will totally scold me if i told her went to lygon.

3 Little Angels

i know they don't really look very appealing, but it's seriously god-like. i can eat 6 of them at a go. thanks to my brother who found these mini sinful things at a little corner in bukit timah plaza. it literally melts in your mouth. the pastry, cream and strawberry sauce makes a perfect combination. MUST TRY.

baked maple chocolate muffins last saturday night to settle my urge to bake. going to learn aunty jean's orange chiffon cake recipe soon, prolly today or tomorrow. really love baking cause its so fun! sadly, i can't do them in melbourne. i'm also thinking of trying macaroons, but learning from masterchef, i know it's not easy at all!

anyways, last week (in 1.5 days) i completed the hong kong drama serial- the seventh day. i love the 4 main casts. all so pretty and handsome. i watched this particular drama because of kevin cheng, but i didn't really like his character in the show, kept leaving his girlfriend behind. the other couple seemed more interesting, funny and cute!

watched toy story 3 the previous sunday with my brother and sister after having sushi tei with parents. the movie is really good for a cartoon film. i enjoyed it so much, and i can't believe i teared when andy reluctantly handed his toys to the little girl. the best one as compared to the previous 2.

Jon is OUT of MC!

quite disappointed that i can't watch it online from singapore, but i have been following their photo gallery for every episode. sad to say, my idol jonathan (the middle one) is OUT of the competition!!! :( he was in a pressure test with jimmy and courtney last night, and the lucky 2 stayed. i've never seen courtney cooked before, but i don't really fancy her, and jimmy's cooking is just so-so lah.

jonny was me and rachel's favourite from the day we started watching masterchef. have been watching masterchef every single day, without missing any episode due to jonathan (besides the food). now that jonny has left, i guess i'm just left with one last person to support, that is, claire. being avid fans, me and rachel said that we will go patronise his french bistro once it's open. heard that it's in sydney, so all the more we will go! :) prolly next year.

okay, i thought me and rachel were being over-ily crazy about him. but there are way more crazy fans out there! i've just read the comments given by jono's fans, some of them are very true and some are damn exaggerated! it's so damn funny.

"please consider Manly, then we will be there every day." YES, manly beach rocks.

"I am absolutely devastated. You deserved to be in the finals. You had the most commitment and passion than anyone else there! What were the point of those questions the judges gave which you answered the best there." VERY TRUE, totally agree.

"I was crying after today's episode." may have cried if i was watching.

"Why are we still watching Jimmy make curry?" super funny man!

"I am not watching anymore,

this show becomes ridiculous!!!!!!!!

the wrong ones are eliminated!!!" okay lah, not that serious. will still watch, but prolly not everyday!

"jonathan - you are a true masterchef in moreways than one. you can see by the comments in media coverage that people thought that both you and marion were the real contenders. you were the ones everyone wanted to see fight it at the end." everyone supports him!

"You, your GENUINE smile and attitude of being the best shines through. I shall miss you, you are an amazing Gentleman Chef." his smile was what first attracted rachel and i.

"You are the most genuine and humble of all the contestants." :)

"the deserving never win it.. BUT they are the more successful once they start their own thing after the competition." okay, self-consolation! partially true.

"I have loved seeing you in the competition ever since the beginning and I truly admire your skills and talent in thinking up such intelligent and creative dishes." jono is really one of the best!

"Now with Jono leaving MC has lost it's Intelligence" haha! joke.

"I am an Architect interested in helping you live your dream of opening a french bistro - would love to discuss this with you. if interested - i can be contacted through the ideen architecture website." okay, i love this comment the best. really hardcore fan. better be nice! :)

Red & Gold

so, SPAIN won. :) i was so right to support spain from day one. i'm quite pissed at myself for not waking up. i set my alarm clock at 2.20am, but i'm not sure if it didn't ring or i didn't hear, so i missed the match. thank god they won, and i'm really happy! oh, and i'll have a free dinner treat due to a bet with a friend. anyways, the photo of david villa wasn't from last night's match. but he's way too cute in the photo, and i figured that i should share. :)

on friday night, the girls and yongbin came over to my place to chill. wanted to go club, but plans changed. had food and drinks, played poker and blackjack a little while, and chit-chatted for a real long time. yongbin left for butter factory, while the girls and i continued our talk. haven't had a chance to have a full kumaleh gathering this time round, only met them individually and not very often too. they're all so busy with poly, internship, working, army. sigh oh sigh.

so my results. it has been quite some time since they were released. wouldn't say that i'm very happy with it, but i'm satisfied. :) got H1 for organisational behaviour and business finance, H2A for shaping the enterprise with ICT, and H2B for cost management. okay, i didn't expect OB to be a H1, was aiming for ICT to be a H1 and cost management to get a H2A. especially cost management man, i studied so hard for it, but honestly, the paper was TOUGH. well, but i'm happy with them and i'll continue the hard work for the next semester. okay, 2 more weeks. :(

Spain, FTW!

Cesc Fabregas and David Villa is enough to make me support Spain. what more with Iker Casillas and Fernando Torres. i'm not a soccer fan, but i do catch a few games of EPL with my brother and dad. only manchester, when ronaldo was still there. funny how so many girls actually get hooked onto world cup when they never watch soccer matches. i know the reason why. other cute guys outside Spain? Michael Ballack, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Michael Bradley, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo.

One More Week

that's right, one more week till i leave singapore for another 4 months. seems quite short, but somehow i don't feel like going back to melbourne. it's the first time i'm feeling this way. wonder why and how?
surprised cixian with yongbin and cheryl just before her birthday ended last night. it was a success, she was surprised in her PJs. hanged out at her place for quite sometime talking before heading home. nice tart bought by yongbin from takashimaya as a gift.
chinese new year is awesome! had plenty of fun playing with all the giant explosives. collected many ang baos, and the amount this year is better than previous. lots of visiting in singapore, JB and KL, and i bet i'll put on weight due to the new year goodies. decided to do something different this time, so i made a 3 minute video clip about my cny this year. will upload it soon- till i figure out how to get it up on facebook, because apparently it doesn't agree with iMovie.
happen to pass by a site address spotted from teresa's blog. was feeling bored and i decided to go take a look. luckily i did, am really amazed at the number of items she baked & the ideas she came up with. fantastic! there were so many pretty photos of her products that i wanted to put all of them up on my blog. such a creative baker, she was also featured on the martha stewart show.

He's a Buddhist?

mummy just told me that they saw richard gere in india! she attempted to take a picture with him in the background as he didn't want to snap photos with anyone (except for monks i think). apparently, he goes to india and tibet at least once every year, knows the dalai lama very well, and has donated lots of money. cool fact huh. love him, he is so handsome and charming (especially his young photos)!

gave accounting tuition to bryan chew today. glad that i still remember what i've learnt. finally finish hongkong drama- burning flames. want to rent gong xin ji soon, everyone says it's good!
