fell sick one fine saturday due to the excessive amount of chocolates consumed when i just got back this year. was supposed to join the clique at the safari, instead i spent the afternoon with my brother at NGV and the night with the clique at moomba! despite my sore throat i was still shouting my lungs off on one of those thrill rides.

that black square board was the most memorable art piece to me. makes me wonder if the reason behind it is more important that the artwork itself. we got lost in the gallery for quite some time, before deciding that we were hungry and went for scones at the tearoom.

We All Want A Fairy Tale Ending

it has been one busy weekend, starting from friday night. oh, the aftermath was really bad. never felt so sick and drained out after a clubbing session, all thanks to my allergy to escargots. i'm not touching those snails ever again! tried them in paris when i was younger, and i was perfectly fine. i know that we can grow out of allergy, but never knew that the vice versa happens too.

cousins and aunts came out from JB on saturday morning. too bad i wasn't well to spend time with them, until dinner at newton circus. 6 ladies eating with a table full of food - had clams, stingray, gong-gong, chicken wings, oyster omelette, hokkien mee, ice kachang, etc. i miss singapore food. instead of lazying around, my maid and i made orange chiffon cake that afternoon. i've always heard so many praises about aunty jean's cake, i didn't believe it until i tried it on saturday night. if we sold it, no one would believe that we made it. fine, self praise is no praise, but it's really nice. the whole cake was finished within a day. sunday was dedicated to shopping. not bad man, managed to get a pair of shoes and a maxi dress in that shopping centre.

i swear my blog posts are so not up to date. life's moving faster than what i'm able to record. i guess that's good? :)

2 fridays ago, vanessa, rachel, kimmy and i went for a disney princess exhibition at federation square. we all enjoyed ourselves, brought back so many childhood memories. i could remember how my siblings and i were siting in front of the television, watching those disney princesses movies on TAPE, not cd-s, over and over again. sadly, there wasn't pocahontas and jasmine. but there was rapunzel and princess and the frog?! my favourite's beauty and the beast. :) bought some disney princess stuff for my little niece, glad she love them.

we had salmon don for lunch. this is the legendary salmon don that i'm always craving for and ranting about how good it is. presentation's not great, but just look at how fresh the salmon is! ahh, i wished i can have it like NOW. anyone knows any great salmon don in singapore? :)

He's One Quirky Guy

i enjoyed myself so much at the tim burton's exhibition today. i went for the exhibition not knowing anything about him, besides knowing that he's the director of alice in wonderland. heard his name numerous times, and i know that he's definitely one big shot in the movie industry. since holidays are here, i decided to go check out his exhibition at federation square. mind you, there was a 35 minute queue on a tuesday morning. this is how great he is. he's a real talent. no regrets going, and i found myself a new idol. :)

sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the exhibition. i totally agree with that idea as allowing people to snap photos of his work will just lower himself. rachel, kimmy and i were blown away with his masterpieces. from sketching to movie production, everything was just awesome. i wish i could buy some of his drawings and hang them in my room or future house. his work displayed is so HIM. drawings, sculptures, movies and story lines were all so weird, sad, spooky. but the funny thing is, the majority of us out there do appreciate his work.

after today, i found out that he actually directed so many movies. 1982 Vincent, 1984 Frankenweenie, 1985 Pee-wee's Big Adventure, 1988 Beetlejuice, 1989 Batman, 1990 Edward Scissorhands, 1992 Batman Returns, 1994 Ed Wood, 1996 Mars Attacks, 1999 Sleepy Hollow, 2001 Planet of the Apes, 2003 Big Fish, 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory & Corpse Bride, 2007 Sweeney Todd, 2010 Alice in Wonderland.

can't believe i've only watched 2 of his productions. what have i been doing? adrienne's going to pass me Edward Scissorhands tomorrow, and i shall slowly start finding and watching the rest. and its always glad to know that he has upcoming productions. 2011 Dark Shadows, 2012 Frankenweenie, 2013 Maleficent, 2014 The Addams Family. :)

i couldn't leave federation square without a souvenir, so i got myself a post card and a tim burton's tragic thought journal. love the cover of it as it has colourful lights. everything about him is just so ____. is there even a word to describe his character? sad, lonely childhood are the words that occur to me when looking at his work. also, i guess his love life proves the point that love is fated, since his wife is Helena Bonham Carter. so compatible.

everyone in melbourne should go for this exhibition.
